Atelier La Femme has been welcoming clients in Playa de Mogán since 2013, bringing together hairdressing, nail care, beauty treatments and wellbeing services. Whether you live locally, return each winter or would like to book a treatment during your holiday, the salon offers a range of services in one place.

Behind the business is Viktoria Czene, known to many as Vicky. Alongside her work at Atelier La Femme, her business experience includes Flow, another hair and beauty salon, and a tattoo studio. She is also President of the Asociación de Empresarios de Mogán, supporting the community in which she has built her working life.

From a broken nail to a new career

Vicky arrived in Gran Canaria in January 2003 to join her boyfriend, who had already been on the island for a couple of months. The original plan was to stay for less than a year. Almost 24 years later, Gran Canaria is home.

Her background was quite different from hair and beauty. She had studied banking, played the piano and was working as a bar manager in Puerto de Mogán. With a three-year-old son, she was also thinking about her future and looking for a different direction.

The opportunity appeared through an everyday problem. During lunch in Mogán, Vicky broke a nail. When she asked around for somewhere to have it repaired, she discovered that nobody locally was offering nail services at the time.

She decided to open a salon with a friend who already had experience in the beauty industry. For Vicky, it meant starting again professionally. She began studying, practising and learning the skills needed for a completely new career.

Atelier La Femme opened in 2013. In 2024, she took over another established salon, renamed it Flow and began developing it with her own vision and direction.

Part of Mogán’s business community

Vicky’s connection with Mogán extends beyond her salons. For the past two years, she has served as President of the Asociación de Empresarios de Mogán, an association that brings together and supports local businesspeople.

She also belongs to BNI, an international business network, where she is part of the leadership team with a focus on growth. Both roles reflect something she enjoys: connecting people, supporting businesses and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop together.

Running her own businesses has brought challenges, including COVID-19, rising rents and increasing product costs. Vicky speaks openly about the need to adapt, keep learning and respond to what clients want. One achievement she particularly values is being able to provide stable work for her employees.

For her, Mogán’s international character is another pleasure of the job. The salons welcome people from different countries and backgrounds, including residents and visitors who return regularly.

As Vicky puts it: “For me, Mogán is not just a place to run a business. It feels like home.”

Hair, beauty and time for yourself

Atelier La Femme offers unisex hairdressing alongside nail, beauty and wellbeing services.

Hair services include cuts, blow-dries, colouring, highlights, perms, keratin treatments and other hair treatments. Nail care includes manicures and pedicures for women and men, with options such as nail extensions, BIAB, Shellac and Russian manicures. Specialist pedicures are also advertised as “pedicura medicinal”.

The wider treatment range includes facials, facial massage, full-body massage, eyelash extensions, lash lifting and tinting, eyebrow shaping and colouring, microblading and micropigmentation. An osteopath is also part of the team.

For a particular treatment or practitioner, call ahead to discuss what you need and confirm availability.

One practical feature is the salon’s “beauty stations”. Where appointments and treatments allow, clients can combine services during the same visit. For example, you may be able to have your manicure or eyebrows done while your hair is being styled.

It is an approach designed to make appointments convenient while giving clients time to relax.

The team recommends booking by telephone. This allows them to ask about your requirements, such as your hair length and condition or the treatment you would like, and reserve enough time for your appointment.

Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows.
