🌡️ HEAT WARNING: TODAY AND TOMORROW

We’ve had a couple of beautiful days, personally I think 25°C is close to perfect, but it’s warming up from here.

👉 Today (Wednesday): a moderate heat warning is in place, 11:00 to 19:00, with a maximum of around 35°C, mainly affecting the Tejeda basin and the southern and western medianías (mid-altitude areas)

👉 Tomorrow (Thursday): this steps up to a severe warning, 11:00 to 19:00, maximum around 37°C, with some southeastern and western medianías possibly reaching 39°C locally

Puerto de Mogán is fortunate here, the coastal position and the trade winds off the Atlantic keep things noticeably more comfortable than inland.

☀️ Stay in the shade during the hottest hours

💧 Carry water wherever you go and keep drinking, even before you feel thirsty

☕🍷 Coffee and alcohol work against you here, they dehydrate rather than hydrate, so match them with water

Current conditions: light wind, visibility 10km+, temperature 22°C, generally clear.

⚠️ Later today there’s a chance of stronger wind, up to a 40% possibility of gusts around 30 knots between roughly 13:00 and 21:00.

This doesn’t normally mean delays, just a windier afternoon for departures and arrivals with more turbulence

Slight conditions, small swell. A pleasant day for a swim.

🚩 Always follow the beach flags and lifeguard instructions

👡 Don’t forget beach shoes, the sand gets very hot underfoot by afternoon

18:30 – Children’s and youth activity park

📍 Plaza de Las Gañanías (square on top of the underground parking)

19:00 – Football, single women vs married women

🛍️ LOOKING AHEAD TO TOMORROW

Every Thursday in July, the shopping centre MOGAN MALL in Puerto de Mogan puts on food stalls and live entertainment. A few nice restaurants around too.

🎶 Tomorrow at 20:00, Salvapantallas take the stage, one of the most popular local bands on the island. If you caught them here in Mogán on Sunday, this is where to find them next. Free entry.

🚌 Bus 91 gets you there easily, €1.55 each way.

🛒 Well worth a browse too, Lefties (Spain’s answer to Primark) is one of the more popular stores.

💡 TODAY’S TIP: EL MIRADOR VIEWPOINT

If you only do one thing beyond the beach and harbour, make it this one. Many consider it the best view in all of Puerto de Mogán.

👉 Starts near the post office, clearly signed the whole way

👉 257 steps, a steady climb but manageable at your own pace

👉 Avoid the hottest hours, bring water, take your time

📸 The view over the harbour, beach and mountains at the top is genuinely worth it

🚧 A SHORT UPDATE ON THE PUMPING STATION

Following on from the news I shared, the Town Hall has so far only confirmed that the pumping station will be moved away from the beach. The new location and start date haven’t been announced yet. I’ll update you here as soon as there’s more.
