🌺 RESTAURANT REVIEW: Restaurante Plaza Mogán

There are restaurants in Puerto de Mogán that focus on volume, and then there are restaurants that focus on the dining experience.

This week we visited Restaurante Plaza Mogán for an early dinner, arriving at around 5.45pm on a Tuesday evening. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty, but by the time we left it had filled up nicely, which is often a good sign.

From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and professional.

🍸 Aperitifs & First Impressions

Before dinner we decided to try a couple of aperitifs.

One was a Campari and tonic, which was beautifully balanced and very refreshing.

I also chose a Bellini, but not quite the traditional version. Here it was made with peach liqueur, grenadine and cava, creating a slightly sweeter and more original cocktail that worked surprisingly well.

It was a lovely way to begin the evening.

🍴 What We Ordered

One of us chose the Grilled Fillet Steak.

The steak was cooked perfectly and served with roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a Béarnaise sauce. Everything on the plate was beautifully presented and the quality of the ingredients was immediately apparent.

I chose the slow-cooked Lamb Shoulder.

This was one of those dishes where the meat simply fell apart with very little effort. Tender, rich and full of flavour. The accompanying pepper sauce was exceptional and probably one of the highlights of the evening.

The vegetables were sautéed in butter and cooked perfectly, adding colour and freshness to the plate.

🍷 Wine & Service

Service deserves a special mention.

Our waiter was friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in ensuring we enjoyed the experience. Rather than simply taking an order, he brought a small tasting of the house red wine* so we could decide whether it suited our meal. It did.

That kind of attention to detail is becoming increasingly rare and added to the overall experience.

Throughout the evening service remained professional without ever feeling formal or rushed.

🌴 Atmosphere

The restaurant has a relaxed and elegant feel.

Although it became much busier as the evening progressed, it never felt crowded or noisy. It was the sort of place where you could comfortably spend an entire evening over good food, wine and conversation.

đź’° Value for Money

Restaurante Plaza is not among the cheapest restaurants in Puerto de Mogán, but based on our experience the quality of the food, service and overall dining experience justified the prices.

Sometimes value is not about paying the lowest price. It is about feeling that the experience was worth what you paid.

That was certainly the case here.

📝 My Verdict

I always remind readers that these reviews are simply one person’s experience from one visit.

Based on this visit, Restaurante Plaza delivered one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I have had in Puerto de Mogán for some time.

Excellent food, attentive service, beautifully presented dishes and a relaxed atmosphere combined to create a very enjoyable evening.

This was my first visit.

It definitely won’t be my last.
